Hey again Erwin!

I have a few ideas right off the bat but I’m just getting started:

1) As I mentioned in the group, I think it would be great if some of the kids in Timmy’s after school program and Dara’s Feeding program could be treated to mini recitals.

2) There’s negative graffiti all over the city, what we if we could hold a street art competition for primary school aged kids where they get to positive graffiti using excerpts of your poems?

We could have two categories, one which is done in chalk on some of the nice new cemented streets, and those could be done live and voted for live as part of a community event.

The other, done in paint, spray paint or otherwise, we could leave it up to creative discretion of the kids. These would be more permanent and would add cultural value to our communities and maybe even become tourist attractions (sites people want to have pictures in) once we get our city fully cleaned up.

3) I’ve been talking to sister YaYa and a few other people about the need for us to organize more community cohesion events. Whenever we do these, it would be great if you could consistently be one of the presenters.

4) The Krem Sunday Review show has underutilized ad space, if we created videos of you doing some of your poems, I’m sure we could find some NGO’s and even public sector partners who would be interested in sponsoring them to get aired as public service announcements.

5) One way of addressing the need for greater social cohesion would be for us to help organize more inter school events. Variety shows were a big deal when I was in high school so I’m going to be working on ensuring that there are a lot more of those starting this year. Doing recitals at some of those would be a great way to target your message to high school aged students, the age group that presently seems to be most at risk in our community.

You can let me know your initial thoughts on these via your comments below or/and we could meet to brain storm these and other ideas some time this week or even this weekend.

Stay true.
