It’s with a sad and heavy heart we the members of The Belize People’s Front, send condolences to the family and friends of the late Special Constable Danny Cornorquie, who was brutally murdered in cold blood, in plain sight and in broad daylight, at the place of his work, Caracol Archaeological site.

This fallen soldier of the soil, a native son of the Cayo District will be remembered always as one of the patriots who believe in our borders, in our sovereignty and in our freedom.

This callous act cannot go unpunished, and we call on the Ministers of National Security, Mr John Saldivar, and The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sedi Elrington, to act in unison in bringing the murderer of this brave young Belizean to justice. The Belizean People’s Front urges the government to compensate his family as they did the Guatemalan family that lost a member on Belizean soil.

Belizeans are no less angry at this intrusion and attack on our Police officers and soldiers in their native land. We must let the OAS know, that Belize will not bend over backwards anymore and entertain the Anglo Guatemalan dispute. This is not our fight as we have been recognized as an Independent Nation for thirty (33) years now.

How we react to this act of aggression will determine how Independent we are!

The Belize People’s Front asks all concerned Belizeans to join us in a peaceful demonstration to be held at the Western Border on Tuesday, September 30th. We will meet at the Macal Park in San Ignacio, Cayo at 9.00 AM and move on to the Western Border.
