Day of Healing Committee LogoOn April 19th 2014, The Day of Healing Committee will be hosting the 11th community day of healing, in the village of Gales Point, ‘Malanti’. The committee has staged 10 similar events throughout south side of Belize City. The results have been extremely successful.

This effort seeks to rekindle a sense of commonality and reconciliation in neighborhoods across Belize, one community at a time. Ultimately, the organizers hope to stem the tide of violence and subsequent fragmentation of the community by using a bottom up approach.

After the shocking quadruple murders on Dean Street in January 2013, grassroots activists came together and staged the first Days of Healing event, using sports, family games and performances by local artists as an inspiring occasion for community residents and visitors of all ages to come together in unity.

The day will include games, entertainment, and rides for the kids. Food, soft drinks and water will be served. Parents and children from across Belize city, along with community leaders and police officers spend the entire day connecting with each other. Trophies and medals will be given out to the winners of the various activities. The event will have music and a special message oriented concert by many Belizean artists.

The organizers, through this medium are extending an invitation to your company or organization to partner with this effort by subsidizing the operational cost of this event with your cash contributions. A list of the expected expenses can be viewed here.

Support can also be given in the form of material resources or relevant services to assist in the effort. There will be an extensive ad and PR campaign to build up the event on television and in print. This will provide a great opportunity and spotlight for your organization to be mentioned as a premium sponsor for this noble cause as expressing public thanks and recognition has been a keystone of the movement. It is only through authentic partnership between all the various components of our community can meaningful change be realized.

The Day of Healing Committee would be delighted by the opportunity to meet with you to discuss this effort and to answer all questions or concerns that you may have and would gladly make themselves available at your convenience.

Thank you in advance for your kind consideration. May the creator bless you in all you endeavor.

Sincerely,

Day of Healing Committee
